Back

At the beginning of the summer I wanted to take a little break to read a bit more and to relax. I had found that drawing every day took so much of my time up that I never really got to sit down and open a book.

One book I've been reading over the summer, and still am reading, is Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown. It's an easy read and looks at ways to be more purposeful with your time and energy. Many things that McKeown writes about are pretty common sense but his writing got me thinking about how I spend my free time. Having been without internet for some time in the last couple of weeks I've noticed that I spend a lot of time online doing nothing in particular. Time I really would like to use to draw and read without having to feel that either of the two needs to give way to the other.

With my master plan of being less online and spending more time with a book or sketch book I'll aim to post 5 sketches per week, allowing me to relapse into idle internet laziness once or twice a week. I'll start with a new sketch tomorrow and will also add the few things I've worked on during my drawing break. It's not a lot of drawings but there are some nice sketches from my sketchbook (It's solely sketches in a sketchbook as most of my drawing stuff was packed away during my move.).
